Customs Policies

Any personal imports with a Free on Board (FOB) value of US$100 or less will not be subject to import duties. However, for items that exceed US$100, duties are applied.

Imported goods for commercial use will be subject to import charges, regardless of the FOB value.

Please note: That LetZshipit may from time to time offer updates, but it is the importers responsibility to familiarize him or herself with the most recent customs regulations as it relates to policies, procedures and import requirements (tax and duties) that may be applicable to importing packages into Jamaica.

Please be advised that for LetZshipit to act on your behalf to allow a seamless process we require that you sign up for a LetZshipit account.

Jamaica Customs requires invoices for all packages being imported into Jamaica to determine the value and whether Customs duty charges apply.

Country Specific Restricted and Prohibited Items

Restricted Items

A permit is required to import certain commodities into the country. Importing a restricted item without having first obtained a permit may attract fines. Restricted items include but not limited to meat/animals, fruits & vegetables, Ground provision, firearms & accessories, fireworks, explosive, etc.

Prohibited and Restricted Items

Prohibited items are absolutely forbidden from entering Jamaica. Prohibited items include indecent and obscene prints, paintings, photographs, cinematograph films, lithographs, engravings, books, cards, or written communications or any indecent or obscene articles whether like the above or not and any parcels, packages or packets having thereon, or on the cover thereof, any words, marks or designs which are grossly offensive or of an indecent or obscene character.

Shipping

Immediately after signing up with us, you will receive your US shipping address and can start shipping.

Packages arrive in Jamaica twice per week.

Tracking Packages/Delivery

We will update you on the progress of your packages from the moment it reaches our warehouse in Florida to when it is ready for delivery and/or pick up at our branch in Jamaica via email or SMS.

Please note that invoices are required to be submitted 24-48 hours after getting your notification that your package/s has been received in Miami.

NB: Failure to submit invoices will result in your packages being detained.

No invoice, no package.

Delivery/Pickup

Free delivery is offered for Kingston and St. Andrew only on Saturdays for the following areas:

New Kingston
Half Way Tree,
Harbor View

Delivery outside of these areas and days will attract a delivery fee as the delivery service will be outsourced. Additionally, packages weighing more than 15 lbs will attract an additional fee. Please contact the Kingston Branch for more information.

U.S. Address

Relatives and friends overseas can use the LetZshipit address in Florida to send you your barrels, baby registry, wedding, and birthday gifts, etc. We will forward it to you on our next shipment.
